Music Declares Emergency launches its third annual Turn Up The Volume week on Monday 17th April with a unique initiative to put music fans at the heart of the response to the climate emergency
The Fan Club For Climate is a new program within MDE that will encourage music fans of all genres to become a part of the movement both online and in real life. Developed in Beta since Summer 2022, the Fan Club already has over one thousand founder members pledged to work with Music Declares to put music, and the communities around it, at the heart of the climate conversation. Early sign ups were enabled by partnerships with Reading and Leeds Festivals, Yungblud, and The 1975.
With support from across the music industry for today’s launch, including an eye-catching video display at London’s O2 and Glasgow’s Hydro, The Fan Club For Climate aims to create the world’s largest climate conscious music community.
Members will gain exclusive access to ticket giveaways and prizes from industry donors and be encouraged to come together to take monthly challenges related to the climate emergency. Regional groups will be supported to engage with their local music communities to highlight and celebrate best practice, campaign for support for transition to sustainable business models and engage with local music fans to mainstream conversation around the climate emergency.
