Our aim is to bring awareness of the climate and ecological emergency into our professional circles and help facilitate discussion about what we can do in our professions to address it. One major way to do this is by choosing repertoire that relates to the climate emergency, to raise awareness among audiences, as classical music attendees are more likely to be in the groups making climate-significant decisions than average. Our Classical Declares Emergency working group has asked for submissions from performers and composers (if you have works to suggest, add them using this form) and we present a selection of our choices below. These will be updated regularly.
Solo and duo pieces (1-2 performers, may include electronics)
Repertoire for chamber groups (small unconducted ensembles, 3+ performers)
Repertoire for choirs (3 or more singers, with or without accompaniment)
Repertoire for orchestras (including works with soloists or choirs)
