More than 25% of total global emissions are generated from what we eat. Food is also the primary driver of the ecological emergency through destruction of habitats to create farms growing one crop or animal. Fertilisers kill the oceans and pesticides are pushing insects and other creatures to extinction. On top of that, one third of all food produced is wasted.
Eating a plant-based diet is proven to be not only better for the environment, but it’s also better for your body, well-being and longevity too. Try a fully plant-based menu for a week or a month
Try swapping out one item at a time, perhaps milk or beef - which are some of the most harmful products. Go Vegan World offer some powerful reasons to ditch dairy here.
Be mindful to not overfill your basket when shopping for food. The less food wasted the better, so only buy what you know you will eat. Your wallet will thank you too!
